Chapter Three: Haunted Past
Her long black hair glistened in a light blue illuminance, her soft blue eyes shimmering like stars.
“My son, you need to keep trying. You must get to Dovena, they can help you,” Queen Laythia encouraged gently.
“How?” he grumbled.
"Knowledge is the most powerful weapon; use it well."
Torrick frowned. “Can it help me handle this cursed spirit?”
"The scrolls say different methods; however, at this point, in your particular case, you must win this fight on your own. This Shadow Spirit is too strong to be removed by a mortal, even an angel. I’m sorry, but I cannot save you at this moment, not yet..." she trailed off. "I have a plan... you'll just have to trust me. Can you?"
She smiled brightly. "I need you to remain strong and never stop learning. Never stop challenging yourself; the stronger you get, the better chance you will have against him, do you understand?"
"Yes," he dipped his head.
"Good." She paused. "My first piece of advice now," she hesitated as they locked gazes. "Beware of your fears. They are the fuel for demons within. The more darkness and negative energy you breed, the stronger they get. Feed your passions and your confidence, but remain humble and positive, yet realistic and truthful with logic and experience. The stronger you will get from the more you learn and practice, the weaker the demons become. You must master the ability to control the negatives.”
